Job description, responsibilities and duties
The candidate will join the Data Science and Advanced Analytics Team providing data science environments, professional services and custom advanced analytics solutions to internal customers; Business Units and Group Functions.
In this role, you will join a dynamic and agile team designing, developing and maintaining systems in support of data science and advanced analytics processes.
Specifically, this position will initially focus in supporting the Life Actuarial Function with development and maintenance of applications, tools and models implemented using Python and VBA.
* Design, develop, test and maintain architecture and systems for modelling & advanced analytics processes, primarily using python.
* Train resources in python programming and software development best practices.
* Assist in enhancing automation and best practices for model development and maintenance.

* University level education, e.g Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Engineering Discipline
* At least 3 years relevant experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer in an advanced analytics environment
* Experience with commercial software development or contribution to open-source software development projects Advanced knowledge & high degree of competence with python and knowledge / competence in a range of programming languages / technologies combined with a desire and aptitude to broaden that experience:
* Required: Python, VBA
* Highly Desirable: R, SQL
* Ability to work effectively in a global organization, under time pressure and to manage ambiguity.
* Fluent in English (spoken and written).
* At least 3 years relevant experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer in an advanced analytics environment
