Senior IT Application Engineer

Job Summary

• To implement an in-house business application for the Operations in the EMEA region – mainly in regard to MES (Manufacturing Execution System), WMS (Warehouse Management System) and JIS (Just in Time/Sequence) functionalities.
• To coordinate the specific implementation projects and to assure that the project is delivered on time, in good quality and covering the requirements.
• To act as applications processes expert, especially between operations and development team (also besides from specific projects)
• To provide LV2 and/or LV3 support for the corresponding support team in case of critical and unsolved situations in daily business operations (fallback and escalation support)

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for business requirements investigation and translating into corresponding business applications logics.
• Responsible for aligning on and to recommend technical solutions for given specifications towards project teams.
• Responsible for executing the implementation tasks like machine commissioning, system deployment, solution testing, user trainings and system go-live.
• Responsible for coordinating resources for the implementation, assure the project is delivered on time with good quality.
• Responsible to involve team members, subject-matter experts and LV 3 support team to achieve viable solutions, and to define new functionalities incl. requirements for development team if needed.
• Responsible for preparing and updating project plans.
• Responsible for time plan controlling, quality controlling and cost controlling.
• Responsible for creating corresponding documentations (e.g. project / functionality / solution / problem).
• Responsible for resolving system issues during manufacturing process, for providing root cause analysis and for supporting on process issues solving.
• Responsible to provide fallback and escalation support for corresponding support teams in case of critical issues that cannot get solved by themselves (especially during non-work hours).
• Responsible to facilitate and manage regionally or globally driven / initiated projects, e.g. global system upgrades, functionalities updates,

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Solid knowledge in general database logics.
• Ideally having project management skills.

Work Experience

• 3+ years’ experience in software deploying of enterprise applications (e.g. ERP, WMS, MES, JIS, …)
• Experience in automotive industry is preferred.
• Familiar with relevant business processes.

Qualifications

Proficient in the following database technology:

• MySQL

Knowledge with one of the following database technologies would be a plus:

• SQL server
• Oracle

Knowledge with one of the following solutions/technologies would be a plus:

• Siemens PLC / OPC
• Java
• Vue
• Flutter
