Global Infrastructure Engineer Network Service EMEA

For the Yanfeng Global Automotive Interior, we are strengthening the global infrastructure network team. Our Network services comprise of WAN (MPLS and VPN) technologies, LAN (wired and wireless), Internet access incl. cloud proxy services, Network security services and IPT (but not limited to). YFAI widely takes advantage of managed services and separates Operations (daily management) from Service strategy, Architecture, Engineering and vendor management. Service strategy, Architecture, Engineering and vendor management are managed in house by the network engineers. Network operations is responsibility of the managed service partner(s) or for the recently launched “in-house operations” team which takes over from external partners depending the technology. This open position network engineer is for Architecture, Engineering and L3 support to Operations. The YFAI global infrastructure service portfolio is well defined but continuously evolves to meet the current and future business needs.
The YFAI network services consist of several technologies that are in scope for the network engineer:

• MPLS WAN / VPN WAN (DMVPN)
• LAN & WLAN
• RAS
• Internet access central and at remote sites
• DNS / DHCP
• IPT
• Firewalls & Security
• WAN / bandwidth consumption optimization
• Network monitoring systems
• Global and local load balancing services

The YFAI backbone is a blend of Verizon Business and China Telecom circuits managed by the two vendors. 
The engineer network services EMEA together with his team peers in NA and China does oversee all network services design and configuration in terms of standards, templates, proof of concept, pilots and projects within the region and in very close cooperation with external service provider and the global service manager. Network service performance, agility and strict standardization are the key criteria when building and operating our service portfolio. The engineer network service is also a regional contact on all matters related to the managed services provider – CI, performance reviews, capacity planning and escalations to change – and incident management.
Typical duties for the engineer network services:

• Design and definition of standards for global IT infrastructure and documentation.
• Definition of life cycle management for infrastructure components
• Keep up with technology development and trends for IT infrastructure and refine best fit for the business - blueprint of global IT infrastructure landscape
• Design IT infrastructure solutions along standards for highest integration, compatibility with other technologies, compatibility with applications and manageability (managed service)
• Drive and support the implementation of managed services for infrastructure technologies for scalability, agility and performance experience
• Continuously improve service performance experience by reviewing solution design versus requirements, reviewing configuration versus compatibility needs by reviewing service delivery performance versus SLAs     
• Solution testing and implementation with the support of global and regional resources as well as managed service partners. Measure success of implementation in terms of timing and quality with regular reporting
• Supervise and approve the changes of IT infrastructure following processes for change management
• Ensure service and infrastructure availability, effectiveness and security, provide regular reporting on service delivery performance
• Responsible for implementation and maintenance of ongoing IT infrastructure projects
• Follow ITIL methodology during service design, build, implementation and operations
   
  Another area of non-technical responsible for the engineer network services is the support to building and maintaining the service catalog and corresponding business communication
  The engineer network service is responsible for service availability, change and incident management within a global team consisting of YFAI engineers and vendor resources.
