Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

  • Central point of contact for tax and external auditors/authorities, for both PRC GAAP and local GAAP and ensures audit reports issued to governmental authorities are accurate
  • Responsible for planning, accounting and controlling of all non-operational legal entities (e.g. Holdings) and legal entity ledgers
  • Ensure tax compliance: Preparation and filing of CIT, VAT, WHT and other local indirect taxation declarations
  • Responsible for tax audits: CIT, VAT and other local indirect taxes; provide requested information on time to tax auditors and escalate to Tax team if external support may be required
  • Responsible for documenting / tracking of filings and audit status and issues
  • Closely work with Tax on quarterly PRC GAAP tax reporting packages, Corporate Tax directed tax planning initiatives as well as deferred taxation and provisions
  • Initiate and/or involved in legal entity rationalization or restructuring projects
  • Involved in the regional rollout and maintenance of ERP systems for each BU  by ensuring that statutory compliance is taken into account prior to deployment and sign off after deployment
  • Involved in issues dealing with shared service centers within the region, primarily those which impact accounting and tax activities
  • Ensure that all indirect taxes (taxes above EBIT) are properly computed and reported (e.g., VAT, GST, Eco Tax, Social Security tax, etc.)
  • Ensure informational reports are submitted to local authorities (e.g., Interstat) in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensure that all statistical reports are submitted to Statistical Authorities
  • Coordinates the month end legal entity closing process within Hyperion, ensuring that the proper account reconciliations and analytical reviews for completeness and accuracy have been completed before submission to Corporate or BU
  • Closely interact with other regional corporate functions such as Tax, Treasury, Legal and Risk Management
  • Coordinate that on country level all statutory requirements are implemented and properly maintained in SAP, QAD, Oracle or other ERP systems
  • Interact with regional Shared Service Center(s) to improve procedures such as archiving, etc.
  • Minimize/ avoid audit surprises via continuous "balance sheet validation cycle" incl. at least quarterly balance sheet reviews & Day 2/ Day 3 balance sheet reviews, monthly tracking of OOB report for day 3 call
  • Update lease register on a quarterly basis for PRC GAAP and Local GAAP footnotes purposes
  • Own archiving and impairment process for Europe and South Africa in line with underlying C-SOX requirements, prepare the legal entity impairment analysis if applicable
  • Support the preparation of transfer pricing documentation as requested by Corporate Tax, coordinate & execute transfer pricing strategy as indicated by Corp Tax, provide product profitability information to draft TP documentation, understand and coordinate, if required cross charges / Royalties / True-up Calculation
  • Work with legal department to prepare all legal documents for tax planning initiatives & cross charges, filing of documents with the Commercial register, compilation of the permanent binder (including all statutory documents)
  • Utilize "sharepoint" and "Effacts" to centrally save all ARC underlying documentation and permanent information
  • Own monthly pre-closing process and escalate any accounting and reporting matters to YFAI HQ
  • Maintenance and updating of the grant tracker, coordinate efforts to receive grants, properly account for grants from a PRC and local GAAP perspective and continuously track grants in monthly grant tracker
  • Stay up-to-date with local Tax and accounting requirements as well as key accounting requirements from YFAI, identify and close technical skill gaps

University education (Bachelor's degree)

Language skills

Serbian - Advanced (C1) and English - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

  • Bachelor's/ Master’s Degree in Finance with focus on controlling, accounting and/ or Tax
  • Local Accounting and/ or Tax degree
  • Preferably Big 4 background
  • At least 7 years finance/ accounting experience, international experience, focus on processes and proven leadership expertise
  • Local GAAP and international GAAP (IFRS/ US GAAP) knowledge
  • Serbian income tax and VAT knowledge
  • Experience in financial reporting, financial analysis and cost accounting
  • ERP systems knowledge (including SAP, QAD and Oracle)
  • Hyperion knowledge (Enterprise/HFM)
  • Experience in managing large, regional and/or global teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication, organizational and planning skills. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint), Internet and e-mail.
