US Tax Manager

Job Responsibilities

• Manage timely and accurate preparation, review, and filing of all returns related to income tax, State &Local Tax, franchise and excise Tax, US property Tax
• Ensure proper financial reporting of US income taxes (payables/deferred taxes)
• Assist the defense of prior tax positions as audited by US tax authorities.
• Assist the preparation and oversight of Transfer Pricing documentation reports for US in collaboration with the Transfer Pricing Manager
• Coordinate communication of US income tax and State &Local Tax issues with various North American business teams (Plants, Procurement, Treasury, Accounting, Legal, etc.)
• Manage R&D tax credit process performed by outside service provider
• Manage FATCA / CRS / FBARs and other Information Reporting process (W-8, W-9, 1099, 1042)

Common requirements :

• Take ownership of projects with a pragmatic “can do” attitude
• Strong written and oral communication skills towards both tax and non-tax professionals
• Team-player who is also able to work independently
• IT proficient knowing or willing to learn how to use accounting software such as QAD and Oracle Hyperion
• Oversee work done by external providers
• Support the US & Canada Senior Tax Manager and the NA, EU and SAf Tax Director on various tax projects as required
• Oversee tasks done by external service providers when necessary

Specific requirements :

• Education: Economic, Finance or law university degree. Master in taxation is a plus. US Tax certification is a plus
• Work experience: 5 to 6 years’ experience in a tax advisory and/or compliance role with the main focus on US taxes.
• Language skills required: English fluent / Slovak and German is an asset
