Senior Engineer, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Tooling

Main Responsibilities

• Foster engineering during product and tool feasibility reviews
• Manage program with smart tooling solutions, like “family tool concepts” and / or tool concepts with “changeable inserts”
• Create statements of work for injection molding tools
• Schedule and participate in tool feasibility reviews with toolmakers
• Join tool follow up´s and track tools status of prototype and production tools
• Release tool design at suppliers and ensure tools are following our standards
• Support toolmaker to achieve the tool function/process in time
• Startup molds at tool shops
• Encourage purchasing to reduce tool- and production cost
• Support program to reach OEM targets
• Support program in change management
• Hand over tools to the production plant
• Sustain plant production till the PPAP release

Common Requirements
 

The candidate will be settled in the Czech Republic, Slovak Republic or Hungary

Education: Technician or Degree in Engineering (mechanical or industrial) 

Working experience with automotive interior parts or with visible and technically demanding injection molded plastic products (e.g. Instrument panels, Door panels, Floor consoles, TV frames, Vacuum cleaner housings)

• Deep knowledge of product feasibility analysis by following rules for plastic parts design
• Mastery of steel types for injection molding tools, understanding of all types of injection concepts and hot runner technologies
• Expertise of various tools and demolding concepts (e.g. Family tools, Multi cavity tools, Reverse tools, tools/parts with metal, fabric, carpet or natural fiber inlays)
• Experience with small, middle and big injection molding tools, in a range from 1 ton up to 40 tons
• Deep knowledge in tool manufacturing, chemical graining and coating/hardening of steels is required
• Capability to perform clamping force calculations, cycle time, tool size and injection concept assumptions
• Ability to judge/rate rheological, warpage and cooling analyzes, capacity to judge/rate tool quality with the craftsmanship of the suppliers
• Fundamental knowledge of plastic RAW materials
• Basic knowledge of injection molding parameter settings (e.g. Temperatures, pressures, times and speed! Set up of part-filling studies) 
• Elementary knowledge of tooling manufacturing lead times and tool cost assumptions

Experienced in project work, analytical as well as a hands-on approach 

English and or German language skills

Open for regular business travelling across the EMEA 

Good knowledge of MS office, 3D-viewer and Rheology-viewer software
