We are looking for a Senior Strategic Sourcer / Category Manager in our dynamic team, who can independently manage sourcing projects and has a desire to further develop his skills and capabilities.

The key responsibilities and competencies of our Category Manager:
  • Performance of tenders, supplier selections, negotiations, etc. focusing on transparent, fair and efficient selection of suppliers for VUB and the ISP group.
  • Active contract management and continuous contract base optimization.
  • Alerting in case of detected non-compliance with company and group rules, processes and policies.
  • Definition, optimization and implementation of procurement and ordering strategies in the range of entrusted commodities in close cooperation with the responsible business owner.
  • Demand and related sourcing plan definition in cooperation with relevant business owners.
  • Active seeking of potential ways of cost reductions and optimized spending via proactive detection of synergies and/or via demand/scope shaping.
  • Looking for opportunities to merge requirements into larger purchasing projects on local as well as global level.
  • Continuous strategy alignment with responsible units within mother company and other members of the ISP group, whenever appropriate.
  • Via continuous market analysis performance building up expertise in the entrusted categories and detection of alternative supply sources, new innovative solutions etc.
  • Building and developing relationships with suppliers, participation in their performance evaluation and mitigation of supplier risks.
  • Creation of various reports and overviews about activities completed and/or ongoing.
