Visma InSchool is a SAAS Education Management Information Systems to the Irish and International markets, currently operating in Ireland and Norway. We utilise best practices and technologies across our implementation, including:
- Test Automation
- Microservices
- Continuous delivery
- DevOps
- Kanban
- ATDD
- Cloud
Our applications are processing 10s of thousands of requests per minute and you will get the opportunity to work in a fast paced and scaling environment, which requires creative and innovative solutions to meet the requirements of our customers.
The position we require is that of Software Engineer who will join one of the development teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyse and design technical solutions
- Implementing the solutions with the code that conforms to industry and company quality standards and guidelines
- Code reviews
- Following Scrum or Kanban processes
Desired Skills Include:
- Java is a must
- Microservices - design & understanding principles, communication and patterns
- Scala language is used in some services, is desired but optional
- Experience with relational databases - ORM (object relational mapping)
- Experience in Cloud computing
- Experience in building restful APIs and web applications
- The desire and energy to work on a kick-ass team committed to using best practices and dedicated to delivery!
The successful candidate will be required to work well and communicate across multiple teams both internal and external as well as having the skills required to work independently where required.
