Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are seeking an experienced Senior System and Electrical Engineer to join our Design Engineering team in Power Management business unit, focused on the product design of power systems and solutions for telecom and data center applications. This role involves end-to-end solution development - from gathering requirements through fully operational, customer-ready designs and solutions

Key Responsibilities

● Product Design & Development: Design and development of DC Power Systems for Telecom and Data Center customers, delivering unique, engineer-to-order (ETO) solutions.

● Requirements Management: Collect, analyze, and translate technical requirements from Offering Management and Technical Sales into actionable engineering specifications and design inputs.

● Solution Architecture: Define system-level architectures for power systems, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and Vertiv product platforms.

● Technical Leadership: Lead technical activities and assigned projects, coordinating work across multidisciplinary teams

● PLM & Data Management: Document all engineering data in Vertiv Engineering tools (PLM / Product Lifecycle Management system), following established SOPs for change control and item structure management.

○ Circuit Diagrams & Documentation: Create and maintain circuit diagrams, schematics, and electrical design documentation to Vertiv standards.

○ BOM Management: Develop and maintain electrical Bill of Materials (BOM) structures within Vertiv PLM tools (PD Cloud / Oracle PLM), ensuring accuracy and completeness of engineering data.

● Technical Support: Provide electrical and systems engineering technical support across the organization - supporting manufacturing, field service, quality, and sales teams

● Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver integrated power solutions on time and within budget.

● Continuous Improvement: Contribute to design standardization, platform development, and engineering process improvements.

Personality requirements and skills

● Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related discipline (Master's preferred).

● Experience: 7+ years of experience in electrical/systems engineering, with a focus on power electronics, power conversion, or power distribution systems.

● Technical Expertise:

○ Strong knowledge of power supply design (AC/DC, DC/DC converters, UPS systems, rectifiers, inverters).

○ Experience with backup power systems and energy storage solutions.

○ Proficiency in creating circuit diagrams and electrical schematics

○ Understanding of BOM structures, engineering change control, and PLM systems.

○ Familiarity with telecom and data center power architectures and standards.

● Project Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and coordinate engineering activities across disciplines.

● Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to interface with sales, customers, and cross-functional teams.
