Job description, responsibilities and duties
The Network Engineer position is responsible the support of the LAN, and Wireless LAN services for 268 global locations in over 100 different countries. The job function is expected to participate in network design, project implementations, and operational support of all network services. The position is expected to support the network infrastructure for the company’s Digital Solutions Group. This position works with other IT professionals and end users across Vertiv. The Network Engineer will be the first point of contact to resolve Infrastructure related problems and issues. The Network Engineer must be able to effectively communicate with key vendors that provide network services to Vertiv.
Responsibilities:
• Provide 7X24 support for WAN, LAN, Wireless, and related technology
• Ensure all IT network services are designed and configured to achieve maximum uptime
• Ensure all IT network services are monitored, backed up, secured and documented
• Perform regular maintenance on all systems to ensure patching is up to date and secured
• Prepare disaster recovery plans for critical network services
• Ensure all data services are appropriately sized to support the business needs (capacity management)
• Research and evaluate new network technologies to improve available features and meet the changing business needs
• Installation and management of network end points and software
• Provide end user documentation and training
• Resolution of tickets placed assigned to the Network Services technical team
• Standardize Infrastructure processes, procedures and equipment for all supported systems
• Participate in Corporate technical working groups as needed
• Ensure all network services comply with Vertiv Architecture standards
• Ensure all network services comply with Vertiv Security standards
• Any additional responsibilities assigned by the LAN & Wireless Manager
