Job description, responsibilities and duties

Incumbent provides office management, particularly for all tasks that require Slovak language skills, for five American officers and four Locally Employed Political and Economic Specialists. Manages section biographies and translates incoming and outgoing diplomatic correspondence. Backs up and provides support, as needed, to the Embassy's Protocol Assistant. Arranges meetings, lunches, dinners, schedules for Political and Economic section visitors. Escorts visitors. Performs other secretarial tasks as needed, like photocopying, delivering newspapers and picking up other mail for the section, replenishing office supplies, or requesting to arrange any equipment repairs. Writes and sends invitations, makes follow-up calls when necessary. Serves as the primary point of contact for nuclear non-proliferation and border control and customs programs.

Personality requirements and skills

Qualifications and Requirements:

Completion of two years of University/College studies.
Minimum of two years office management experience.
English – level IV (fluent), is required.
Slovak – level IV (fluent), is required.

Ability to prioritize tasks. Must have diplomatic tact and discretion in handling various phone calls from high-level offices and dealing with Political and Economic visitors.
Ability to build a contact network and to use the network to determine the right individual and offices to work with on counter-proliferation and other key U.S. priorities.

Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
