Main objectives and results of the function:

  • Responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring the overall supply chain strategy in order to maximize efficiency and productivity and service level.
  • Plays crucial role in developing and maintaining good relationships with customers, vendors and distributors.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Manages the entire process from quote and order management to material planning and supply chain activities, inventory control, logistics and distribution, ensuring effectively-functioning processes to avoid costly delays and lost opportunities.
  • Ensures effective lines of communication between CSC, Planning, Procurement and Logistics department to ensure priority requirements and timely delivery of products.
  • Leverages ERP and system landscape to its full potential based on synchronized process and updated master data.
  • Works with Procurement team (buyers and disponents) to source the right materials and goods.
  • Participates in negotiating contracts with suppliers, customers and freight forwarders.
  • Confers with supply chain planners to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials and products.
  • Monitors supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  • Participates in developing of material costs forecasts or standard cost lists.
  • Performs regular controlling of manufacturing and delivery processes.
  • Plans and implements logistical strategy and ensures that the targets are met.
  • Oversees product storage, handling and distribution.
  • Works on forecasts, keeps an accurate record of the process and analyses performance. Identifies problems or bottlenecks, proposes possible solutions and implements counter measures to get back on track.
  • Analyzes inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste or optimize customer service.
  • Improves the overall supply chain performance and look for any possible innovations and improvements to the process.
  • Participates in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow.
  • Designs and implements supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and by the needs of the business.

Required qualification and experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in field of Supply Chain Management / Business Management / Manufacturing / Distribution & Logistics
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management / Business Management / Manufacturing / Distribution & Logistics.

Required skills and competencies:

  • Very good command of English written and spoken. German language is a plus.
  • Highly analytical and data driven. Advanced skills in MS Excel and Microsoft BW.
  • Hands on experience in ERP Systems. Especially SAP WM, SD, PP, MM.
  • Strong planning skills together with logical and systematic approach to work.
  • Good time management skills. Ability to prioritize and work under time pressure.
  • Critical thinker with ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as think laterally and offer solutions.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with Lean Tools or Continuous Improvement.
  • Proactive, customer-driven with hands-on mentality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams.
