Job description, responsibilities and duties

The role:

As a Digital Workplace Endpoint Engineer  you will support all operational aspects of SCCM including developing and deploying application packages and building.

Key responsibilities and authority

Core duties, tasks, and responsibilities expected in the role. This includes the breadth and depth of the responsibilities to assess the level of complexity and impact. What decisions may the job holder make without first seeking approval from higher manager/supervisor? Does the role have signatory rights?

  • Configuring and troubleshooting software deployments (including Windows Updates) and SCCM client-side issues

  • Engage and work side by side with other Engineers providing services including OS Imaging, Software Packaging and Deployment.

  • Research, recommend, evaluate, and implement the SCCM roadmap to support future IT initiatives (experience in cloud technologies a plus)

  • Perform and test SCCM server stack routine system backups and restores.

  • Research and recommend plans for preventative maintenance, and disaster recovery.

  • Customize device collections for targeted installation/reporting for Windows desktops.

  • Maintain endpoint imaging deployment tasks including optimization of deployment/management processes.

  • Create and maintain driver packages for supported systems (Lenovo Laptops and Desktops).

  • Assist/Contribute to any integration efforts of other tools (Service Now, AD, etc.)

  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripts for the purpose of automating software deployments via SCCM

  • Assist with management of PatchMyPC 3rd party update services.

  • Develop, analyze, and troubleshoot, SCCM policy implementation.

  • Configuring and troubleshooting on-premises SCCM infrastructure and Intune.

  • Autopilot Support.

  • Perform security procedures and follow policies to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal policies.

  • Intune Support for Android and Apple Mobile Devices.

  • Documentation and Training - Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, changes, and best practices. Provide training and knowledge transfer within the team, enabling them to effectively utilize the best practices and solutions.

Key requirements

Outline the essential competencies and characteristics that candidates must demonstrate to contribute to our diverse, inclusive culture and succeed in the role. These may include:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) current branch - deployment, administration, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance in a multi domains and site.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Intune solution, MDM Enrollment policies and profiling.

  • Knowledge about Autopilot and Bitlocker

  • Experience of Active Directory, Group Policy, LDAP, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WMI.

  • Competent in SQL, WQL, PowerShell scripting is a plus.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems including Server2012R2/2016/2019 and Windows 10/11

  • Competent management of competing priorities and workloads

  • Demonstrated experience in incident, problem, and change control processes.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including creation of technical documentation.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.

  • Advanced research and troubleshooting skills to solve issues.

  • Problem-solving abilities to see issues through to resolution.

  • Ability to take ownership, present, demonstrate, document, and provide thought leadership and stakeholder management in order to deliver new projects.

  • Ability to work equally well as part of a team or individually and manage own workload.

Education/ Qualifications

Identify the essential qualifications, education, and certifications necessary for success in the role.

  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position in a large and multi-national enterprise environment.

  • 5+ years hands-on technical experience administering Microsoft Windows-based systems at an enterprise level.

  • Ideally certifications in SCCM and Intune

Travel Requirements

Percentage of working time involving travel, and travel destinations

Example: Position may involve travel up to 25% of the time, mostly within Europe but overseas travel is expected. Most trips will include overnight travel.
