About the role:
As a Strategic Buyer you will be part of a Global Procurement function driving a high-performance culture and setting the standard for excellence. We are looking for an ambitious Strategic Buyer, to support Advanced Operations team with New Product Development (NPD) materials planning/operational purchasing and to help Global Procurement to scout for supplier and to develop procurement strategies.
As a member of this team, you will be expected to develop, outline, and execute projects in accordance with agreed upon deliverables, timings, and budgets.


Your key duties and responsibilities as a Strategic Buyer:
• Support concurrently multiple NPD projects
• Analyse complex information/data to drive to decisions and or actions
• Manage supply for assigned raw materials to meet NPD project timeline and deliverables
• Control inventory levels for assigned raw materials and define re-order points to satisfy product development and validation activities
• Develop appropriate excel planning tools to manage raw materials planning and purchasing outside of SAP (NPD projects are managed outside of SAP until product launch in the market)
• Raise purchase orders and follow up with supplier to ensure timeline delivery
• Attend NPD project review meetings and report on a regular basis status of material requirements, delivery status, inventory status, risks with associated mitigation options, potential impacts on project timeline
• Work closely with the sourcing or category manager responsible for the supplier/category commercial relationship
• Drive supplier scouting initiatives, RFIs and RFQs as required by Global Procurement
• Drive business review meetings with assigned suppliers as part of Global Procurement Supplier Relationship management (SRM) programs
• Anticipate risks and supply issues and proactively taking actions to prevent occurrence
• Escalate risks and supply issues to NPD project team and resolve with the appropriate sense of urgency
• Work closely with manufacturing plants and supply chain planning teams to support new product launches and the transition from development to routine manufacturing
• Manage onboarding of new suppliers on company Approved Supplier List and SAP; support creating of SAP codes with Master Data
• Build strong relationships across multiple functions (R&D/T&I, PMO, Advanced Operations, Supply Chain, Global Procurement) and with assigned suppliers, clear written and verbal communications
• Maintains and develops a full understanding of the Production capacities and constraints within the assigned supply chain and the Customers Service and Financial aspects of the products under their responsibility
