About the role:
The Technology & Innovation (T&I) Manager for Ostomy Care located in Michalovce is a member of the global T&I team with responsibility for new product introduction (NPI) and management and development of the Michalovce-based Ostomy Care R&D team.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely project execution and optimum utilization of resources. The T&I Manager contributes to development of business strategy as well as all T&I processes in accordance with legislation and the expectations of the ConvaTec Senior Management Team.

Your key duties and responsibilities as a T&I Manager for NPI of OC:
• New Product introduction, working with cross functional teams to transfer and embed the manufacture of new products into business as usual activities for the Michalovce site
• Design and development of new manufacturing processes, systems and process components including prototype manufacture
• Project management (including planning, resource utilization and execution) of the entrusted T&I projects
• Contribute to Risk Management activities and other technical assessments
• Participate in and support the CAPA process, review nonconformances and assign resources to complete related actions
• Lead T&I team members
• Work within a cross functional team to ensure that technical workstreams are integrated into those of others within the business and this is reciprocated with other key functions to provide a co-ordinated and collaborative approach to NPI
• Develop good working relationships within a multidisciplinary team and open new communication avenues to progress projects and activities effectively
• Develop the OC T&I team (technical and personal skills) to continually improve capability for project execution
• Support in T&I related decision making for Design Control, Change Control and other processes in T&I competence
• Understand and apply standards which are applicable for an OC product or product family
• Understand and apply relevant statistical techniques for data sampling and analysis
• Deputise for T&I Director for any OC design/change control matters and other ad hoc delegated responsibilities
• Approve documents applicable to T&I and function through ConvaTec’s Electronic Data Management System

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Educational Specialization

Qualified to degree level (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant science related subject

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

About you:
• Experienced professional within product and process development
• Experienced in the application of regulatory requirements to medical devices - it is an advantage
• Experienced Project Manager and leader of direct reports and in Line Management
• Demonstrated ability to drive performance of self and others
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Experience working within the Pharmaceutical or Medical Devices Industries or an equivalent regulated industry
• Ability to manage team assignments and projects, establishing strategies for work and project execution
• Effective management of project budgets
• Ability to report project status to internal and external stakeholders including the ConvaTec’s Senior Leadership Team


Education / Qualifications:
• Qualified to degree level (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant science related subject
• An understanding of Medical Device Regulations (such as MDD, MDR, CFR) - it is an advantage
• A solid understanding of Design Control, Process Validation and Statistical Process Control - it is an advantage
• Demonstrated experience working within design control and change control processes - it is an advantage
• Communicative level of English language
