Senior DB2 Administrator

We are looking for experienced Senior DB2 Administrator, who will work in virtual team being responsible for database system within entire group.

Responsibilities
- Creating database, configure db for archival logging, configure db parameters
- Database upgrade/migration (applying fix pack and Version upgrade)
- DB2 Database Security Model (Authentication, Authority)
- DB monitoring (Database Snapshot and event monitor)
- Database backup/restore
- Review and Execute DDL, review DB2 diag logs, notification logs
- Resolve locks and deadlocks
- Analyse and recommend performance enhancements in database design, SQL queries and DB setup
- Maintain and enhance database availability, manage large number of connections/users
- Project and task reporting
- Communication with management, key-users, team members and suppliers

Requirements
- 2+ years of experience with DB2 DBA (Linux, Unix and Windows)
- A solid knowledge of DB2 Database architecture (Process, memory and storage architecture)
- A solid knowledge of DB2 Database fundamentals (Threads/process, Instance, table spaces, Containers, SMS, DMS, buffer pools)
- Worked with DB2 V9 or higher
- Hands on with management/monitoring tools available for DB2
- Good in root cause analysis of any outage from DB2 logs
- Sound knowledge on Database character sets (UTF8 and Non-UTF8 Database)
- Hands on exposure on Data movement tools(db2move, export, import etc)
- Hands on exposure on Linux, Unix Platform and comfortable in Linux/Unix basic commands
