Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
As a Senior Application Administrator you will be part of a great, global team where you will be able to grow and you will be working for customers from Finance, Banking, Retail and Petrol sector where you will provide the support and complex tasks to fulfill their expectations, as well as being capable to deal with transaction files and job management.
Your tasks will cover the creation and maintenance of solutions to keep SLA (Service Level Agreement) on expected levels, improving the qualitative areas and implementing innovating solution to improve delivery of service.
You will be also responsible for the problem management and development of the knowledge base.
Application Administrator is providing support for proprietary J2EE (Java 2, Enterprise Edition) applications, middleware containers and infrastructure used by these applications which are providing endpoint monitoring, software & distribution, inventory and complex business services management.
You are responsible for
• Senior Application Administrator for Linux OS & Java based applications – providing services to Banking, Petrol, Journaling, Cash Management, Monitoring Platform
• 2nd - level support regarding ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) and applications
• 3rd – level support for specific areas as part of career path
• Responsible for the incident, change, request and problem management process for applications and application servers on daily basis
• Operation of middleware application containers (ActiveMQ, Apache WS, Tomcat, JBoss/Wildfly)
• Create innovating and automated standardized solutions with top quality
• Create IT solutions for customers on global market and bring ideas to improve satisfaction of consumers
• Delivery of standard orders (special reports for customers, SQL queries, data collection and processing, etc.)
• Control and Management of jobs (Batch, Backup, Archive, Journals, Reports, Logs, etc.)
• Delivery of non-standard orders and custom solutions for individual customers (SFTP - Secure File Transfer Protocol - servers setup, event-filtered data collection, automated software distribution towards the endpoints, etc.)
• Continuously address saving potential and drive for cost reductions
• Always share (new) knowledge to colleagues. Frequently use the corporate knowledge base to find solutions and provide input for it
• Understanding of DR (Disaster Recovery) and HA (High Availability) concepts
• Active communication with developers regarding flaws, ideas on the application

Personality requirements and skills
• Solid understanding of network technologies, diagrams and topologies (LAN, WAN, protocols, ports …), IP addressing, TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, telnet, gateway;
• 5+ years of experience with Linux related technologies on intermediate level (install packages, patching, setup cron jobs, basic troubleshooting, manage users, ssh, scp, ssh tuneling,); LPIC or RHCSA certification is plus;
• Experience with:
- middleware (installation, configuration and tuning) - apache http web server, Active MQ, Tomcat, JBoss/Wildfly;
- understanding JDBC, connection to DB - tnsnames.ora;
- 200+ lines scripts reading, writing, modification (SFTP file transfer, monitoring scripts, sed, grep, lsof, for, do - while loop, awk, sftp, ssh, scp, ...) in Perl / Bash / Python;
- RHEL/Oracle Linux OS, LDAP, understanding of horizontal and vertical clustering;
- Oracle / PostgreSQL DB administration knowledge; SQL experience - select, inset, update, transaction (commit / rollback);
• Overview about Java and J2EE platform and troubleshooting - heapsize, garbage collector, OutOfMemmory;
• Application management and troubleshooting experience;
• Overview about GIT, JIRA, Confluence;
• Able to communicate in English language (speak, read, write);
• Good communication skills – convince colleagues about new ideas, be able to communicate on good level under pressure
• Excellent team cooperation – with mentoring approach;
Preferred Qualifications
• Detailed planning, organization, time management, and project management experience is a plus;
• Ability to mentor junior colleagues;
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or Electrical is a plus;

• Experience in ITSM according to ITIL is a plus;
• Willing to work on on-call-duty rotation shifts;
