Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are looking for intermediate or senior Linux Application Administrator to join the team of specialists, that are responsible for managed services sector customers. That means banking and retail sector world wide.
If you join our team, you will meet senior specialists that are capable to consult the opinions, tasks and issues, as well as to train our junior colleagues fast.
We appreciate candidates with experience with automation as we want to focus on tasks where we can use our brains, skills and experience to move further.
We manage HW as well (support with vendor, upgrades, decommission).
We really try to minimize on-calls, as we can manage the environment and our goal is to have everything in top condition.

Besides that your daily tasks would be:
- Application administrator for Company’s proprietary applications – Linux based
- Banking, Petrol, Journaling, Cash management, Monitoring platform
- II/III-Level Support regarding IT and Applications
- Incident/ Problem/ Change/ Release/ Configuration management for applications and application servers
- Operation of middle-ware application containers (Apache WS, tomcat, JBoss, wildfly)
- Proprietary Company’s Payments Applications
- Delivery of standard orders (special reports for customers, SQL queries, data collection and processing, etc.)
- Control and Management of: Job’s (Batch, Backup, Archive, Journals, Reports, Log’s, etc.)
- Known error documentation, Knowledge Base responsibility

UNIX/Linux - advanced
UNIX/Linux administration - advanced

Personality requirements and skills

- Previous experience with Linux administration is a must (we appreciate 2 and more years)
- Understanding of network diagram and topology (LAN, WAN, protocols, ports, …)
- Skills in Linux and Network troubleshooting
- Experience with apache http web server, Active MQ, tomcat, JBoss/wildfly, Perl Scripts, Bash Scripts, RHEL/SLES OS, LDAP, Python scripting is an advantage
- Overview about Java and J2EE platform is really nice to have
- Application Operation & Interface / Job management experience
- English – Upper intermediate (B2) (we are international company, our clients does not speak Slovak)
