Job description, responsibilities and duties
We are looking for experienced Windows engineer for our customer in Austria with traveling up to 50% of working time.
• Extensive experience with MS Windows Server
• Experience with maintaining large Windows Servers environments
• Experience with patch management solutions
• Highly proficient with automation/scripting languages
• Ensuring patch compliance levels are met
• Implement and maintain server security settings, report on deviations and remediate. Architecting solutions and work them through analysis and implementation.
• Provide expert level support for Windows Server 2008R2, 2012 and 2016. Including installation, configuration and administration.
• Automate repetitive tasks including system builds, configuration and application installation processes.
• Assess and solve issues in a high-pressure environment. Including participation in researching solutions to various business and technical problems.
• Provide Tier 3 support for customers and technical staff.
• Create and maintain system documentation.
• Interact with business and evaluate vendor products.
• Work independently with little guidance from supervisor/manager
• Ability to collaborate with resources across multiple disciplines. Including Engineering, Networking, Application Development and Information Security.
• Provide performance analysis, tuning and optimization on various hardware platforms.
• Work as the technical liaison between management, employees, vendors, support and consultants.

• Security and domain management with a strong emphasis on security.
• Must have fluid scripting skills for Windows (Linux a plus)
• Knowledge of Active Directory, including Group Policies and Certificate Authority is an advantage
• Knowledge and basic troubleshooting of VMWare guests
• Knowledge and basic troubleshooting of x86 hardware including HP and Cisco UCS is an advantage
• Basic understanding of DB and Middleware installation and management. Such as SQL and IIS
• Knowledge of remote access and system management tools such as RDP, Microsoft Systems Operations Manager, Microsoft Systems Configuration Manager, HP Systems Management Home Page, UCS Manager, HP Integrated Lights-Out and Microsoft Active Directory.
• Must have strong communication, organizational and time management skills. As well as a motivated self-starter
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Must be able to author work instructions, best practice documents and scripts which can be followed by others.
• Demonstrate the ability to master new and diverse technologies.
• Proven ability to work well in and contribute to a team environment
