Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are hiring new person to TOMRA for division FOOD who will be responsible for:

• Provide contact between the production plant and design in technical issues related to electronics and electrical components of company products

• Responsibility for life cycle management of electronic and electrical components of any kind

• Ensuring continual Purchasing department support in scope of
o Evaluation/Assessment of alternative suppliers/manufacturers (production transfer PCBs, modules, etc.)
o Evaluation/Assessment of alternative parts due to End of Life/ Obsolete parts and Engineering Changes
o Testing of components on multiple machines, with high variation of input conditions
o Communicating of findings between supplier, Tomra manufacturing site, and R&D

• Responsibility for After Sales Spare Parts supporting
o Maintenance of Legacy machines (keep knowledge base)
o Collect & Keep knowledge of Upgrade Kits and Alternative spare parts

• Proactive analysis of critical components in advance, specification, and proposal of alternatives

• After the necessary training in cooperation with R&D, co-responsibility for compliance of produced parts/products with CE/NFPA/UL/CSA standards requirements CE/NFPA/UL/CSA requirements
o Communication of UL/CSA projects with UL agency/UL inspector,
o Evaluation of UL findings /nonconform parts/, management of corrective actions
o Co- responsibility for development and maintenance of documentation
o Provide technical support for service personnel in the field, if necessary, travel to the site, diagnose and repair equipment

• Responsibility for performance of technical and methodical support for other technicians in debugging and failure search on the level of components

University education (Master's degree)

Educational Specialization

Field of optoelectronics, optics, mechatronics

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1) and Slovak - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

• Independence, creative thinking, proactive attitude
• Experience from other technical disciplines, mainly from machine engineering, enabling complex problem solving

• §23 of Regulation 508/2009 Z. z., at least 5 years of professional experience
• Knowledge of DSP, uP FPGA, CCD, LED, Laser, systems of industrial vision
• Hardware / PCB practical Design Experience
