Job description, responsibilities and duties
The purpose of this role is to develop, implement and execute regional procurement strategies for the MRO and Capex categories in alignment with the global category strategy.
The Regional Category Manager will create and develop appropriate and successful strategies that will deliver added value in financial and non-financial areas.
The regional category manager will also develop and deliver a procurement plan together with a robust supplier relationship management programme in order to meet or exceeds targets and expectations.
Through excellent leadership and communication skills, the regional category manager will strategically manage the regional supplier spend, lead cross functional projects and highly strategic negotiations (both internal and external) that drive sustainable improvement in cost, quality and service; as well as bring innovation.
The regional category manager will also be accountable to present and discuss the developed strategies senior leadership global and regional.

• Strong track record in strategic procurement and category management with an emphasis on solution benefit, meeting challenging targets and successfully delivering business needs
• Expert knowledge of MRO and / or capex category
• Evidence of acting as a trusted partner in a fast paced blue chip organisation, forging strong relationships with our suppliers
• Experience in working in a matrix organisation
• Evidence of leading Supplier integration programme
• Well-developed commercial mind-set and supplier market knowledge
• Evidence of using market insights to influence decisions and drive change
• Experience of leading cross functional teams through influence and credibility to deliver results
• Understanding of and ability to successfully develop and manage stakeholder relationships
• Proven track record of strategic procurement and category management with small, medium and large organisations and in a variety of cultures, ideally with global exposure within the category
• Outcomes oriented individual with a proven track record of delivering savings targets by developing first class stakeholder relationships both within the organisation and the supplier market
• Strong track record of working successfully in cross functional teams to serve business needs, developing a compelling selling proposition, and negotiating to win-win contract closure
• Experience successfully managing, maintaining and increasing a portfolio of $20mm+ over time
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• First class written and verbal communication skills
• Well-developed all-round presentation skills
• A professional procurement qualification through a recognised professional body
• A degree or equivalent, preferably in a Business or Technical discipline
• Solid understanding of the buying cycle and using this knowledge for every client interaction to deliver against client expectation
• Experience in wider related business activity is beneficial
• Systems experience within an SAP environment is advantageous
• PC literate including MS office suite of programmes
• Experience in and good understanding of risk management tools and techniques
• Performing market assessments, trends and recommending mitigation action plans
• Willingness to travel both domestic and international to support category and business unit requirements.
• English to native standard (additional European languages are beneficial)
