The Opportunity
As the Platform Security & Communication Engineering Specialist - Digital Health, you will contribute to Takeda’s Digital Health Platform’s networking and security features and components. Working closely with the Senior Platform Architect and engineering specialists, you will help design, implement, and scale the platform’s core networking and security services.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working infrastructure and security on complex cloud platforms and are used to work in a cross-functional team with engineers and product owners.

Responsibilities
Security Architecture & Engineering
• Design and implement security controls across cloud infrastructure, APIs, data pipelines, and platform services.
• Collaborate with the Senior Platform Architect to ensure security is embedded into platform blueprints and development workflows.
• Define and enforce secure-by-design and privacy-by-design principles across the platform lifecycle.
• Automate security monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes.
• Define and maintain infrastructure-as-code security baselines and policies.

Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure platform security aligns with GxP, GDPR, HIPAA, MDR, ISO 27001, and EU AI Act requirements.
• Support threat modeling, risk assessments, and security reviews for platform components and third-party integrations.
• Contribute to validation, audit readiness, and documentation for regulatory submissions.

Collaboration & Enablement
• Partner with platform engineers and product teams to ensure security does not hinder agility or innovation.
• Provide security guidance, training, and best practices to engineering and data teams.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

Required:
• Approximately 5 years of experience in cloud network engineering and cloud security roles.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP), container security (Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm).
• Proficiency in scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Bash, Go).
• Willingness and ability to work on-site in Bratislava with flexibility for hybrid work.

Preferred:
• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or medical device software.
• Knowledge of zero trust architectures, identity and access management (IAM), AWS networking and secrets management.
• Familiarity with EU AI Act, FDA cybersecurity guidance, and cloud validation practices.
• Experience with security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP, and CIS Benchmarks.
