The Opportunity
As a Database Developer SQL Server, you'll design and develop databases within MS SQL Server and
write T-SQL queries to view and manage database objects. You will be enabling automation to deploy updates to databases as requirements change and convert single large database into multiple smaller databases to use with microservices. You will work as a technical specialist alongside business, product development and infrastructure teams within a distributed agile environment. You will also contribute to Takeda’s mission by leading the development and adoption of solutions that deliver business outcomes and drive innovation.

Responsibilities
• Deep understanding and working experience with MS SQL Server
• Design and create databases for use with web APIs
• Design and create queries or stored procedures to work with applications
• Design and create update scripts to make changes to databases without user intervention
• Estimate work based on user stories and functional requirements

Skills and Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or similar
• 4-6 of relevant experience
• Work experience as a Database Developer with MS SQL Server
• Proficient in T-SQL and writing DDL, DML, and transaction queries
• Expertise with UDFs, column store indexes, and common table expressions in T-SQL
• Experience working with SQL server in a DevOps environment automating schema and data changes across environments
• Analyze existing MS SQL Server databases to recreate as multiple smaller databases for use with microservices
• Create automated scripts to manipulate schema as database changes and document scripts to be executed by a third party or automation
• Proficient with collaborative tools like Git
• Self-starter with a passion for taking ownership of your work and delivering outcomes
• Excellent communication skills, a team player with a 'winning as a team' attitude
• Ability to write and speak in the English language
• Excellent oral and written communications skills, with problem solving and analytical skills
• Practice efficient time management and coordinates tasks, working in an international

Preferred
• Experience with GitHub
• Experience working in a life sciences environment
• Familiarity with regulated systems and general level of understanding of quality systems validation
