Job description, responsibilities and duties

General description

-Independently check, execute, solve (where appropriate), and creates tickets (problem ticket, change management ticket, incident, delivery order (DO)) in order to maintain service to customers according to given quality KPIs and internal processes (INM, CHM, PRM, DOM).
-2nd level environment.
-Working in global SAP Systems Management Suite – SMS infrastructure according state of art technology and based on customers, operation’s needs.
-Completes operational and organizational tasks/processes more independently and autonomously in assigned area of support according T-Systems processes and considering customer contracts, processes and SLA.


-Independently check, execute, solve (where appropriate), and creates tickets (problem ticket, change management ticket, incident, delivery order (DO)) in order to maintain service to customers according to given quality KPIs and internal processes (INM, CHM, PRM, DOM).
-2nd level environment.
-Execute project and other deliverables in order to fulfil KPIs and management requests.
-Smooth and uninterrupted operation of customers’ environment.
-Conformity with the internal work instructions and process guidelines within T-Systems.
-Follow the defined escalation standards in case of deviations.
-Investigate the root cause of incidents and initiate actions to improve or correct the situation.
-Participate on regular and/or irregular communication with colleagues in an international environment to ensure operational goals.
-Participation on on-call duties , independent solving and troubleshooting of incidents and errors within defined expertise
-Coordinates the use of internal technical support and vendor support to ensure troubleshooting, maintenance, and an efficient end-user support.
-Train and participate on education of other employees.
-Perform team specific non-technical tasks such as quality/ process/ reporting to support daily operation.
-Create, change and delete user accounts.
-Provides support in the field of monitoring, reporting and event management for operating systems, databases, SAP applications , communication components based on his/her wide range of IT knowledge.
-Central support of all available SAP SMS portfolio and technologies.
-Initial setup of system monitoring and threshold adjustments, event management, -incident management, change management – planning and execution of standard/complex changes, support in problem management - analysis and solution of complex issues.
-Standard SMS components housekeeping activities, starting/stopping systems, installation of systems, performing updates and upgrades.
-Support for migration and consolidation of SAP landscape monitoring and related activities.
-Collaborates on designing concept in a difficult task area, proposal for improvements, develops and controls optimization measures relating to processes and quality.
-Advance Service awareness of customer core business processes, customer contracts and SLA.
-Basis awareness about cost/value analyses.

Technical tasks for predecessor position(s):

-SMS components daily event management (availability, free space management).
-Inclusion/modification/removal of standard SAP application monitoring based on SOP.
administration of standard service level reporting .
-Basic customization of monitoring parameters and thresholds.
-Basic Event Management customization (rules, on call, aliases, maintenances).

Technical tasks

-Advanced support/troubleshooting for all supported monitoring and event Management scenarios.
-Administration and creation of non-standard reporting (performance and capacity reports, system info, health checks).
-Administration of internal SMS components and supporting infrastructure scripts.
-Responsible for updating documentation.

Education-High school.

1-2 years within the field

-Detailed knowledge of ICT environment
-Valid certification in given technology
-Overview of the ITIL processes
-Linux, AIX, HP-UX basic administration.
-SAP Technology overview and knowledge.
-ITIL and process awareness.
-Analytical skills.
-Reliability and holds operational responsibility.
-Ability to work under the pressure.
-Good communication, organizational skills.
-Customer orientation.
-Vocational training or certificates in IT area.
-Working on shifts or OnCall duties.
