Job description, responsibilities and duties

General description
- The holder of the job takes care of and acts a main point of contact for day to day matters for all services related to the near-shore part of deployment, operation and consultancy of SAP Basis, in 24x7 operating model, for International GDU SAP TS customers.
- The holder leads and coordinates up to 25 employees to meet corporate goals for productivity, quality and financial efficiency.
- The holder focuses on accomplishment of assigned team objectives by effective resource management, planning and evaluating activities in the assigned area of operational responsibility.
- The holder is accountable for 24/7 operation and Projects in EMEA area.


Processes and service delivery
- Maintain relationships with counterparts and other stakeholders by effective communication.
- Collect and provide feedback on contract terms and conditions compliance.
- Support pre-sales activities, contract negotiations, customer visits, new customer onboarding, 2nd level support on 24/7 basis in the area of delivering and implementing SAP Basis solutions in project mode, interacting with PM’s, OPM’s and SDM’s.
- Supports projects, hypercare and onsite support with relevant consultants and technical leads

Quality assurance

- Deliver services/solutions to clients in agreed quality and quantity structure according to agreed contracts (OLA, SLA,...) and KPI’s.
- Continuously improve processes and products/services in assigned area, plan improvements and implement improvements programs.
- Coordinate and control reporting, processes, take-over and delivery of services according to standard/processes.
- Participates in on-call shifts in the “manager on duty” role

Budgets and finances

- Provide inputs to financial and other business plans and effectively coordinate assigned resources to meet financial targets.
- Controls finance and efficiency management initiatives across the assigned organizational units and sub-units.


- Motivate and develop people in own team to be able to deliver better quality and maintain satisfaction of employees.
- Ensure all people-related regulatory topics (abor code, internal rules & guidelines) are met in the assigned team.
- Actively steer capacity of team resources and quality of employee performance results in coherence with customer contracts.

Management scope
- People: Lead and directly manage a local organisational with up to 25 members, together with the steering of Global teams as part of the responsible functional matrix, in order to meet the corporate goals for productivity, quality and financial efficiency.
- Processes: Responsible for the driving of standardization of EMEA / Global process for customers under responsibility
- Finances: Directly influences the optimization of Global costs in the delivery of Service Agreements. Forecast and control revenues of up to 1M euros per annum, together with budgets for training, travel and other associated business costs.

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills


- Higher University degree (MSc) or equivalent Experience
- Minimum 3 year experience in leading teams (with 12+ employees)
- Minimum of 6 year experience of working in IT
- Minimum of 3 year working knowledge of ITIL processes


- English (mandatory): written and oral C1+
- German (optional): written and oral B+1


- Work organization and managing skills, esp. crisis management skills (problem solving, work under pressure)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, esp. fostering teamwork, coaching and supervision
