This role is within Synpulse’s Centre of Excellence and is part of a new Reinsurance Operations team supporting a UK-based specialist (Re) Insurance client company. This role involves assisting with analysis, reporting, and controls to ensure effective management of reinsurance activities. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their skills in reinsurance accounting.


Key Responsibilities

With guidance and support, you will gradually take ownership of key operational processes:

  • Support the administration of ceded reinsurance programs across:

    • Facultative

    • Proportional treaties

    • Excess of Loss contracts

  • Assist in managing the credit control process, including:

    • Monitoring outstanding premium and claims balances

    • Communicating with brokers and stakeholders

    • Supporting reporting on aged debt

  • Participate in recurring forums such as the Credit Control Committee

  • Help maintain reinsurance data and systems:

    • Enter contract data (Facultative and  XL) into systems

    • Process and allocate transactions through the LORS platform (Lloyd’s Outward Reinsurance Scheme)

    • Investigate and resolve unmatched or outstanding items

    • Prepare statements of behalf of Ceded Ri for recurring Committee meetings

  • Contribute to accounting and reporting activities:

    • Support quarterly and annual processes for proportional treaties

    • Prepare data and materials for internal committees

    • Assist with issuing payment instructions and reconciliations

  • Collaborate across teams:

    • Respond to reinsurer queries

    • Work with Claims, Finance, and Operations teams

    • Work with internal controls and audit functions as required

    • Ensure claim movements are correctly ceded

  • Support continuous improvement:

    • Help improve data accuracy and controls

    • Contribute ideas to enhance efficiency and processes

    • Assist with maintaining procedures and user documentation

Who we are looking for

This role is ideal for candidates who are early in their career and motivated to grow:

  • 2–3 years of experience in insurance/reinsurance or a similar finance role

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field

  • Basic understanding of ceded reinsurance processes (preferred, not essential)

  • Strong English skills (C1+)
