The purpose of this role is to assist the Underwriting Operations function in the delivery of high-quality client services through the provision of administrative support to the underwriting teams. The role is responsible for undertaking a variety of underwriting support services and ensuring that the desired quality and service levels are met at all times.
The role forms part of the Underwriting Operations function within the Bratislava Centre of Excellence. On a day to day basis the work allocation and functional reporting line will be into the Underwriting Support Manager responsible for management of the Underwriting Controls capability.
Your Tasks:
- Coordinate the Proportional Treaty statement process and ensuring accurate booking of claims and premiums within company systems
- Monitor and chase for the receipt of Proportional Treaty statements
- Review and provide analysis of Gross Written Premium reports
- Assist the Team Manager with external & internal audits being carried out regarding financial, process &/or regulatory matters
- Develop and update underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Investigate and resolve booked vs accounted premium variances
- Advise data entry teams on process for entry of complex &/or unique endorsements or contract adjustments
- Assist with ad hoc tasks and projects as needed
- Evaluate and identify automation opportunities to enhance control processes and reduce manual inputs
- Ensure activities are performed in accordance with agreed SLAs/KPIs

Personality requirements and skills
At least 2 years of experience working within a commercial (re)insurance carrier or delegated authorities or other insurance and reinsurance lines of business.
Essential Skills:
• Relevant (re)insurance industry experience, specifically within the Underwriting Community
• Ability to read and understand the content of insurance contract documentation in order to determine and calculate premium values and the dates on which these become due
• Ability to monitor bordereau and treaty statements and liaise with third parties in order to ensure receipt where these have not been provided
• Proven ability to prioritize and organize effectively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to solve problems and identify practical solutions
• Proven ability to work with speed and accuracy, particularly under pressure
• Proven experience of building and maintaining good working relationships
