Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Supplier Risk and Compliance team in the Centre of Excellence in Bratislava is responsible for onboarding activities and ongoing monitoring of all the client’s outsourced and third-party suppliers, processes and systems, ensuring they operate within an established governance model to comply with regulatory requirements and both internal/external frameworks.  An exciting new opportunity has arisen to lead the CoE team to deliver these services to an insurance client, ensuring that the scope of all our outsourced services are delivered against pre-agreed requirements. The role will manage a small team of Supplier Risk and Compliance Analysts and will play a key leadership role in the Risk and Assurance tower in CoE. 


Key responsibilities:

1.Ownership and accountability for onboarding of new supplier and ongoing monitoring activity for existing suppliers which is performed in Bratislava by the CoE, ensuring the team deliver high quality, robust outcomes within agreed timeframes. This includes:

  •  Controls administration and self-assessment activities
  •  KRI reporting
  •  Performance monitoring
  •  Exit Plan administration
  •  Risk Assessment reviews 

2.Working with the client, implementing continuous improvements and ensuring compliance with multiple regulatory requirements and both internal/external frameworks. 

3.Ensure the team’s performance is at the required level according to relevant SLA’s and KPI’s (when defined) / or drive improvement actions to raise performance to required level

4.Communicate and interact with the Client’s Functional Leadership and act as the first point of contact with them

5.Supervise and develop the existing team, including delivery of individual training plans, career coaching, setting objectives and managing day to day workload

6.Ensure that process and key governance documentation is prepared on time and kept up to date according to the requirements of the wider CoE process set by CoE Management

7.Operational governance - to work with the service providers to ensure smooth running and governance of our outsourcing and third parties, to include:

  • support the development and circulation of insightful MI through review of submitted packs and manage process for client feedback and input of discussion materials
  • Financial Control - managing the billing and invoicing processes for all managed service providers, including monitoring of spend vs budget and annual spend forecasts

  • A background in Compliance or Risk within the Financial services industry
  • Experience managing a team, including managing workload, setting objectives aligned to team vision and actively developing individuals
  • Demonstrable experience achieving high quality operational outcomes 
  • Experience working within an outsourced, shared service, or consulting background working with clients desirable 
  • A pro-active, continuous improvement mindset with the ability to‘connect the dots’ through analysing feedback, identifying emerging issues / themes and working with relevant stakeholders to address
