Portfolio Optimisation (PO) is seeking a Business Analyst passionate about data and technology who thrives in a fast-paced environment. PO is an analytics hub which bridges the gap between individual underwriting and strategic portfolio decisions. You'll contribute to innovative data and technology projects collaborating with a team of actuaries, data scientists, and engineers. This role is a unique opportunity to drive change and face new challenges in the analytics hub of a market leading innovative insurance company.
Your Tasks:
• Work across a number of key Data and Tech projects with engineers and Business SMEs to understand and communicate business requirements and acceptance criteria in the form of user stories, to facilitate the setting up of PO’s strategic Data and Tech projects.
• Manage requirements and associated changes through the project lifecycle
• Elicit and document business requirements, business processes and flows, and user system requirements
• Makes recommendations on best practices for process and system improvements.
• Review impacted business processes and work with business stakeholders to identify and make business process improvements that result in cost savings, higher quality, increased efficiencies, lower risk, and shorter cycle times
• Actively engage stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to support participation through discovery and execution
• Help transition projects to BAU and set up a process for this Experience
Required:
• At least 3 years of experience in IT business analysis, software development or a related field
• Insurance knowledge is a plus
Your skills:
• Strong experience within operational data management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to organise meetings and prepare clear software documentations
• Proven ability to write user stories in Jira, including strong acceptance criteria
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to negotiate with multiple businesses and stakeholders to find solutions for technical challenges
• Excellent critical thinking skills and an open-minded mentality for new ideas
• Excellent software development skills such as testing and designing
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
• Excellent data analysis and mapping skills
• Good understanding of API development and issue identification
• Good understanding of SQL is essential
