Job description, responsibilities and duties
The Finance team is a dynamic and diverse team which supports the business across a wide range of activities, including financial & regulatory reporting, business planning, capital management, investments, tax and treasury & cashflow management. We also lead and support a variety of strategic projects which enable company to grow and meet our key objectives - to be our clients’ favourite insurer, making better decisions through the use of data & technology.
Your responsibilities:
· Ongoing analysis and validation of the Accounting Rules Engine
· Working with Actuarial and FC to analyse and potentially implement new earnings patterns.
· Ongoing engagement with the Finance Operations team to ensure any identified issues are investigated and tracked to completion
· Responsible for reviewing all inputs to the finance close process being presented by the outsourced finance team to ensure completeness and accuracy of the monthly results
· Analytical review of the monthly results
· Maintenance of the SUM schedule, ensuring that all follow up actions are taken in advance of the following month end
· Preparation of ad-hoc analysis as required
Experience Required:
· Strong academic background including an internationally recognised professional accounting qualification (minimum 3 years post qualification experience)
· Strong experience working within an insurance or reinsurance business
Your Skills:
· Strong experience in finance close processes and controls
· Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and attention to detail
· Expert in Microsoft Excel and proficiency with MS Office Package
· Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders across all levels
Nice to have:
· Experience using Oracle and Airtable would be a plus
· Should be able to self-manage in a richly professional and flexible environment
· Continually seeks ways to improve processes, controls and best practices
· Strong organisational and planning skills that support productivity and efficiency
· Operates well within a team, identifying with the larger organisation and their role within it
