IT Development Lead

As the development Lead, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership, driving engineering excellence, and ensuring the successful delivery of products within the centre of Excellence . Your role will be critical in maintaining a high standard of technical expertise and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.


Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and technical expertise to the tech leads and engineers of each team, guiding them in making critical architectural and technological decisions.
• Engineering Strategy: Work with Client on and execute a comprehensive engineering strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives, ensuring a unified approach to software development across all teams.
• Code Quality: Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and code review processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyse the performance centre of excellence development teams, using data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and optimisation.
• Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning, encouraging the exploration and adoption of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
• Technical Challenges: Oversee and provide guidance on resolving complex technical challenges and architectural decisions across the various projects.
• Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with senior management and other key stakeholders, providing updates on technical progress, risks, and opportunities.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure that all engineering practices and products comply with security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Automation test coverage: Ensure all teams have sufficient automation test coverage of all code.


As the development lead, you will play a key role in driving technical excellence, fostering collaboration, and empowering engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the company's business objectives to deliver value to the organisation.


Skills:
• Strong communication skills
• At least 7 years of development experience, ideally with Java, Python or Javascript
• experience of various deployment frameworks, ideally terraform
• Experience of test driven development and different test frameworks
• Strong AWS experience
• Some networking experience
