Job description, responsibilities and duties
You bring strong engineering fundamentals and are able to understand, evaluate, and contribute across application, data, cloud, and operational domains. While you are not expected to be a deep specialist in every area, you are comfortable working across different technical domains, asking the right questions, quickly building context, and making informed technical decisions that move solutions forward.
You can navigate ambiguity, think critically, make pragmatic decisions, and drive outcomes from concept through production while working effectively with cross-functional global teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Contribute production-quality code and remain actively involved in development.
• Build and support data processing solutions using Azure Databricks (ADB), Azure Data Factory (ADF), Python, and SQL.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across application, data, and integration solutions.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud Engineering, and other platform teams to ensure solutions are secure, supportable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
• Design, enhance, and support enterprise applications using Java and Angular.
• Evaluate technical trade-offs, identify risks, and guide design decisions with consideration for scalability, maintainability, security, and operational needs.
• Perform code reviews, mentor engineers, and guide technical decisions while considering system dependencies and downstream impacts.
• Support production systems through monitoring, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution.
• Lead technical discussions with stakeholders and translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Contribute during critical production situations and help drive operational stability and continuous improvement.

• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and independently drive solutions from concept to implementation.
• Strong software engineering experience with Java and Angular and the ability to contribute across the application lifecycle.
• Experience working with modern data platforms and technologies such as Python, Azure Databricks (ADB), Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL, or similar technologies.
• Experience designing and implementing application, integration, or data solutions in enterprise environments.
• Ability to make sound architectural and technical design decisions by balancing business, engineering, and operational considerations.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, application architecture, integration patterns, and production operations.
• Working knowledge of cloud and DevOps concepts, including CI/CD, secrets management, access controls, and production support practices, with the ability to collaborate effectively with specialist teams.
• Ability to learn new technologies and domains quickly and apply engineering judgment to solve complex problems.
• Experience working with global, cross-functional teams and partnering with product and engineering leadership.
• Interest in financial risk management
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in financial services, financial markets, banking, insurance, reinsurance, or risk management.
• Experience improving operational stability, observability, and performance in production environments.
• Experience working in highly regulated or risk-focused environments.
• Azure or related cloud certifications.
• Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence across teams.
