About the Role
As an AI Governance Engineer, you'll be at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and ethical responsibility, developing the tools and systems that ensure our AI implementations meet the highest standards of governance, compliance, and trustworthiness.

Key Responsibilities
• Architect and develop robust AI governance tooling with a focus on extensibility and automation
• Lead initiatives to introduce new governance functionalities (e.g., model lineage tracking, fairness audits, usage logging)
• Own the lifecycle of core tools like the AI Catalogue and the AI Red Teaming Toolkit
• Design and implement new features to scale our governance tools while improving usability for internal stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, AI/ML engineers, governance leads, risk experts, and developers
• Enhance automation capabilities through API integrations, self-service interfaces, and compliance checks
• Support AI risk assessments and documentation workflows through engineering innovation
• Translate evolving regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001) into technical requirements and features
• Ensure alignment with internal policies and external regulatory expectations
• Monitor and iterate on tools based on usage patterns and stakeholder feedback

We're looking for a driven, self-motivated professional who combines technical expertise with a passion for responsible AI practices. You thrive in collaborative environments, value shared learning, and can translate complex governance requirements into practical engineering solutions.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
• A degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, AI, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of Python and/or TypeScript for backend and/or full-stack tool development
• Ambition to promote software engineering best practices in production grade data ingestion and transformation pipelines
• Commitment to staying updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes

These are additional nice to haves:
• Understanding of the AI/ML lifecycle, including model development, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring
• Interest in working closely with data engineers, data scientists and domain experts
• Experience in engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management and external partners
• Drive to promote adherence to AI governance policies and actively participate in defining these policies
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies
