About the role
As a Data/Application Engineer supporting the Alternative Capital Partners IT unit (ACP), you will cooperate closely with other engineers on maintaining and enhancing an IT application. The application is embedded in an environment that serves the business and integrates with other systems and platforms. It is currently in production and operational use. The mid-/long term plan is to migrate the solution to the Palantir Foundry platform. This includes:
• Operating and delivering monthly and quarterly reports to the business
• Monitoring batch processes and data ingestion feeds
• (Re-)designing, implementing and optimizing the application using test-driven development principles
The role requires communication with an international user community as well as a wide range of IT peers across the globe.

About the team
We are a small, dynamic, and international team of experienced specialists that design, build, and operate the ACP IT landscape in collaboration with our business partners. We follow agile methodologies (daily stand-up, bi-weekly sprints, product increments) and utilize DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities
• Ensure processing of reporting deliverables, data feeds in due time according to closing cycles
• Operational support, monitoring and issue handling within the team
• Implement change requests, bug fixing and adequate test cases for system/application
• Produce (and maintain) system & application documentation

Personality requirements and skills

You are an experienced software engineer with a university degree in IT, engineering, or a related field, who enjoys being hands-on. You have a proven track record of delivering sustainable solutions and setting high standards. You are comfortable working in multi-disciplinary teams, collaborating with business SMEs, and value security, quality, user experience, documentation, testing, and teamwork.

Professional background and key skills:
• 2+ years of experience as a software engineer, application engineer or data engineer
• Strong abstraction, fast comprehension, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with project management methodologies and tools (preferably AzureDevOps)
• Ability to prioritize tasks and drive objectives to completion, capable of working independently and as part of a global team
• Passion for continuous improvement and accountability
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
• Strong knowledge of SQL and databases (e.g. Postgres SQL, Oracle)
• Proficient in Python and PySpark (Spark)
• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Foundry or Azure),especially on Azure Data Factory and Data Bricks
• Familiarity with batch processing and application operations, monitoring, and orchestration
• Prior experience with Palantir Foundry is a plus
• Willingness to learn new technologies and languages (including platforms like UC4/Windows Server)
