About the Role
As a trusted technical lead, you'll become the cornerstone of our engineering excellence, developing deep understanding of our platform architecture and ensuring flawless implementation from design to production. Working closely with the head of engineering, you'll establish high standards and build products that consistently exceed user expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure code excellence - Oversee code quality and consistency, implementing appropriate architectural patterns and practices across the codebase
Drive component reusability - Champion the adoption of shared services and strategic reuse of components to improve development efficiency
Maintain production stability - Take ownership of operational stability, incident handling, comprehensive testing, and application monitoring
Optimize delivery pipelines - Design and refine end-to-end build and release pipelines including CI/CD for reliable, consistent delivery
Lead AI innovation - Advocate for emerging AI technologies to enhance coding practices and drive engineering efficiency

Important note: This position requires regular physical presence in our Bratislava office and cannot be performed remotely. Candidates must either have valid work authorization for Slovakia or be eligible to obtain it. We do not provide relocation or visa sponsorship for this role.

You possess the discernment to evaluate engineering work quality and the leadership skills to mentor team members toward optimal solutions. Your collaborative approach values diverse perspectives, and you excel at bringing out the best in people with different backgrounds, experiences, and working styles.
We need you to bring in the following must haves:
Proficient software development experience across the entire delivery lifecycle, with particular strength in Java/Spring Boot environments
Strong public cloud experience, particularly with Microsoft Azure architecture, services, and best practices
Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on coding with architectural vision and technical leadership
These are additional nice to haves:
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Familiarity with insurance or financial services domain
Experience implementing AI/ML solutions in enterprise applications
Agile methodology expertise and team facilitation skills
