Job description, responsibilities and duties
Become part of the team that is closely involved with the most important solutions and processes for Swiss Re Asset Management. We are responsible for owning many of the critical applications in the end-to-end chain, for their proper management, governance and fulfilling the IT security requirements. We are also the gatekeeper for the introduction of new trading products and ensure full e2e testing by coordinating all affected Asset Management teams.
About the Role
Core role responsibilities will include:
• IT ownership of multiple applications, understand their purpose, the setup and infrastructure
• Work closely with various internal teams including IT Resilience, Governance and IT Security to be aware and fully invested in the latest initiatives
• Manage the roadmap to ensure all defined deliverables are delivered within designated timelines
• Communicate and negotiate requirements with the application teams (business owners) to ensure they are understood. The business owners need to be engaged on all topic areas of cybersecurity, disaster recovery, governance, access management etc.
• Consult application teams and work closely with them to improve application lifecycle processes. This includes the DGF process which is a formal set of steps to introduce new software into Swiss Re.
• Complete configuration reviews and coordinate penetration testing activities
• Become an expert on selected front and middle office trading business applications and processes to ensure a good understanding of our E2E processes
• Ensure KPIs and service level agreements are monitored and kept within desired thresholds
• Work closely with audit teams, if relevant, for applications in your scope
• Be prepared to show initiative, to challenge our processes and to suggest improvements to our landscape
There will also be the opportunity to contribute to the following business processes:
• End to End testing for new financial products which includes the overall management, coordination and testing for all impacted teams. These new product initiatives are treated as mini projects and have a high level of visibility.
• Technical onboarding of new investment managers (who manage assets on behalf of Swiss Re) which includes meetings with new managers, setting up the sftp gateway, building new interfaces and testing incoming and outgoing files.
We are a small, focused team, part of Group Digital & Technology (GDTO) serving Swiss Re Asset Management. The team is located in Bratislava, collaborating with business and IT teams in numerous locations worldwide including New York, London and Zurich.

You don't want to be a hands-on developer, but you know about back-end, front-end, cloud, angular and you wouldn't look for python and pandas only in the zoo. You are an energetic and diligent person who is interested to understand how the technology team operates within the asset management business.
Mandatory skills:
• Bachelor or master's degree in computer science, business, informatics or mathematics
• 2+ years of working experience in financial markets and/or computer science
• Ideally you have experience with IT application ownership
• Experience with IT governance, cyber security or vendor management
• Basic understanding of IT security, Disaster Recovery procedure and penetration testing
• Analytical & conceptual skills to understand key business needs and design tailored solutions to solve specific business problems
• Excellent verbal and written English skills
• Enjoy working in a cross-functional and multi-cultural environment
• High degree of flexibility, independent and proactive working style
