Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Corporate Solutions Cost Management Team is looking for a highly motivated person who is interested in becoming part of a global team with the mission of leading the business unit's efforts on managing its operating expense targets through effective planning, forecasting, and reporting. We strive to be viewed as the port-of-call for all operating expense related topics.

The position will enable the holder to gain an in-depth knowledge of our operating expense base and how it's managed and planned strategically to support desired growth in a profitable manner.

This position offers a unique opportunity to interact with all areas of senior management enabling the position holder to be viewed as a value added business partner across the regions under their responsibility by seeking out on a continual basis opportunities to reduce or optimize cost and enhance transparency on cost related topics in their respective region.

About the Team

This position will support in all matters that relate to Corporate Solutions operating expenses within the Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region and Corporate Solutions UW division.

About the Role

- Prepare and distribute expense reporting packages covering the full scope of IFRS operating expense results within the region, providing insights into cost development across all expense categories
- Assist in developing and submitting an operating expense plan that is within the annual target established for the function by working closely with Global Cost Controlling, Human Resources, Cost Center Owners, - FP&A Managers, and senior Finance Management
- File quarterly forecasts reflecting latest views on anticipated spend for the year
- Monitoring new hire and leaver activity within the region and the related impact on operating expenses
- Support all ad-hoc requests related to operating expenses
- Maintaining the organizational structure and signing authority related to the departments and global cost centers

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

About You

Key to success requires excellent organizational skills coupled with a high degree of agility and adaptability. You have a strong sense for priorities and a good feel for assessing and addressing business needs. You work independently and get things done. Problem solving, active challenging of as well as consensus building are easy for you.

- University graduate with a primary or higher degree (or equivalent), preferably in finance/accounting/economics
- Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience (Cost Controlling / Cost Management / Financial Analysis)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver quality output on short deadlines and manage details without losing site of the "big picture"
- Strong communication skills, in particular ability to summarize complex technical issues to a non-expert audience
- Capable of building trust with all areas of the business
- Agile and flexible, ability to operate within a changing environment
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and prioritize appropriately
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
- Stress resilient, with the ability to work independent
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word
- Demonstrate personal accountability for area of responsibility
