Job description, responsibilities and duties

General Accountability:

The Corporate Solutions Carrier Reporting Non Tech Accounting Team is responsible for supporting the European & Asian branches of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Ltd and Swiss Re International SE according to internal guidelines, Luxembourg and US GAAP accounting policies and local tax requirements.
As member of the team you support legal entity and branch accounting, controlling and reporting activities.
You seek possibilities to further develop, streamline and improve the team's delivery processes.
Further, you ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements.

About the Role

- Provide timely and accurate legal entity and branch Non tech accounting tasks according to internal guidelines, regulatory and Group requirements, including closing and reporting of defined entities

- Ensure timely booking of accruals, payroll, fixed assets, VAT, WHT, intercompany recharges (including their settlement), and other non-technical accounting activities

- Support financial controlling of selected entities with focus on group requirements (payable/receivable signoffs, reconciliations for the accounts under the ownership, and related tasks)

- Provide accurate financial information to the management to enable timely and current decisions to be made

- Financial reporting to local tax teams

- Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements

- Support audit activities and prepare requested information

- Participate and support Finance related projects and perform ad hoc tasks as required

- Identify and evaluate process improvement possibilities

- Provide cover for other roles in the team

University education (Bachelor's degree)

Postgraduate (Doctorate)

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

About You

- Three to five years of work experience in accounting/financial reporting

- Qualification in Accounting, Audit, Finance and/or university degree in Economics, Science or Business


- Knowledge regarding accounting policies and regulatory frameworks

- Understanding of financial reporting processes, risk and controls

- Experience in the use of standard bookkeeping software for financial accounting

- Proven PC skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

- Team player with good communication skills

- Engaged and motivated

- Fluent English written and spoken
