About the Team

This is an exciting opportunity to join our global Compliance Digital & Analytics team, based in Zürich, Bangalore and Bratislava! The team is responsible for improving the usage of technology and data, for the benefit of Compliance across Swiss Re Group. Our services include business analysis, development and management of Compliance specific tools and data analytical solutions. The development of digital & analytics capabilities is a key strategic direction for Compliance.


About the Role

As a Data Analyst, you will develop, deliver and support sophisticated data analytics solutions for Compliance. The role provides an opportunity to use your analytics expertise to provide business insights and develop assurance solutions that support Swiss Re's Compliance strategy. You will support the execution of our tech strategy by developing, maintaining and coordinating Compliance Analytics solutions for use within the division and throughout Swiss Re.

Your key tasks involve understanding the problem, identifying a solution with the available data, through discussions with Compliance's domain specialists. You will assess the feasibility of a positive outcome before recommending an analytics approach. Afterwards you will collect and prepare the data before doing the modelling, evaluation and presentation of results. The sophisticated analytics use cases will be related to the control environment and help assess if a risk is being effectively managed and related controls are operating effectively.

- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power Bi services, in order to provide an interactive and visual way for Compliance staff to understand key topics and assess risk during risk assessment activities

- Work with Compliance Stakeholders to generate insights for specific Compliance Risks, such as Money Laundering and Bribery and Corruption, and facilitate informed decision taking. Apply good data visualization practice that help to meet the objective

- Support the development of Key Risk Indicators reporting for key Compliance Risks

- Support the development of sophisticated data analytics solutions by using our advanced data analytics platforms & framework

- Work closely with other data analytics teams to ensure alignment and cross-knowledge sharing

Personality requirements and skills

About You

- In depth skills on MS Power Bi technology, including Power Query

- Proficiency in data transformation, preparation, modeling and visualization practices

- Experienced with SQL and DAX

- Interest in data visualization good practice (e.g. Stephen Few, Edward Tufte) and data visualization tools.

- Work effectively in teams with both technical and non-technical individuals in a constantly evolving environment with dynamic objectives

- High-level understanding of Compliance and risk management is nice to have.

- Experience in Scrum development methodology is a plus

- Communicate technical concepts and results in a clear and detailed manner to non-technical audiences

- Demonstrable ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision

- English proficient is a requirement

- University degree preferably in a numerate field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Maths) is a nice to have.

- Curious nature, desire to learn! Appetite to deep dive into complex topics
