About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated individual that strengthens our Finance Corporate Functions Governance team!

You will take a Business Partner role in Bratislava. In this role, you will provide a dedicated governance expertise to Cash & Cost Operations (CCO) team. The main focus is on identifying and documenting operational and financial reporting risks and detailing respective mitigating controls. You will collaborate closely with your counter-party team in Bangalore, India and other colleagues from the various functions within Swiss Re.

The entire Governance FCF team is working together on a broad range of exciting governance topics. Your energy level and passion for governance will be an excellent fit with the rest of the team!

Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide valued governance advice to the Cash & Cost Operations team in Bratislava.

• Evaluate the outcome of the independent testing of controls, own specific elements of the Risk & Controls Self-Assessment evaluation and reporting process, drive the resolution of issues and operational events.

• Work with the Governance FCF Analytics team to further conceptualise pre-emptive and digital controls / analytics to measure control efficiency; using the outcome as a basis to identify and implement process and digitisation improvements.

• Collaborate with your governance counterparties in the other locations to ensure we apply a harmonised approach towards addressing our risk environment, globally.

• Liaison with members of Coordinated Assurance Functions (Governance, Operational Risk Management team, Group Internal Audit) and external auditors.

• Provide governance advise and support to selected projects.

Requirements for the employee

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• University degree in finance, accounting, economics or similar.

• At least 3 years' direct experience in an Audit or Risk Management role or in an Accounts Payable role.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• Ability to familiarise quickly with a variety of IT systems and proficiency in handling data. Knowledge of SAP is a key advantage.

• Solid skills in Microsoft Office applications (Powerpoint, Excel, Word)

• Self-motivated and self-starter with personal dedication to succeed and achieve results.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to collaborate and contribute to a high-performance team in order to achieve common goals.

• Curious and persistent in getting to the bottom of an issue, insistent in following up.

• Speak and write English fluently.
