Job description, responsibilities and duties

Join a team of cybersecurity professionals and help Swiss Re to fulfil its mission in making the world more resilient. As an Associate Penetration Tester, you'll work on planning and executing pentests for applications and infrastructures, strengthening our defences, while presenting findings to our shareholders. What's more, you'll be working in a hybrid setup, perfectly balancing work from home and the office premises.


About the team

The Security Team is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for cybersecurity engineering and operations, governance, risk and compliance, and defining as well as advancing the company's security strategy. As a part of the Security Team , the Penetration Testing team provides pentest capabilities and services to all Swiss Re operations across the globe. We're looking for a creative, analytical thinker to join our ranks – one who will help us to detect vulnerabilities and secure our infrastructure through their analyses and findings.

In your role, you will:
-Perform and coordinate planning, execution, reporting, and follow-up activities for web application and infrastructure-targeted penetration tests
-Supervise, track, and report action items resulting from penetration tests
-Engage in "lessons learnt" sessions and create educational materials for developers and relevant partners
-Drive remediation and retesting activities
-Collaborate closely with IT experts and specialists across the globe

Information about the selection process

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 1500 EUR full time. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group. You can look forward to extra rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.

Your qualifications

What we need from you:

-At least 2 years of experience in information security and penetration testing
-Solid knowledge of VA/PT (Web, API, Network), with hands-on experience in any programming language (C, Java, Python, Perl, NET)
-Good understanding of software development and architecture
-Sound knowledge of security frameworks (ISO27001/2, NIST, OWASP Top 10)
-Experience with vulnerability management and penetration testing tools (BurpSuite, nmap, Qualys, Nessus, etc.)
-Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and unambiguously to both business and technical audiences
-Excellent oral and written communication skills (English)


Nice-to-have:

-Industry-relevant certifications (SANS, Offensive Security, INE, etc.)
-Participation in a bug bounty programme
