About iptiQ
iptiQ is a risk tech start-up within Swiss Re Group. Swiss Re is one of the world’s leading providers of reinsurance, insurance and other forms of insurance-based risk transfer. We anticipate and manage a wide variety of risks, from natural catastrophes and climate change to cybercrime.
iptiQ provides digital, bespoke and transparent L&H and P&C protection products in a B2B2C manner. Founded in 2014, we're transforming the way consumers buy insurance with a unique digital insurance engine which incorporates the latest technology with world-class underwriting capabilities. We build strong partnerships to sell insurance via trusted brands.
About the Role
In this position you will be joining a growing Team of Life & Health Underwriters in Bratislava who are responsible for supporting major markets across the EMEA region with underwriting related activities. Life & Health Underwriting is the process of assessing the riskiness of a person in order to either accept or decline their life insurance application. This area is one of the core strengths of iptiQ. Following a period of initial training, you will use our world leading underwriting manual (Life Guide) and collaborate closely with our experienced extended team of Underwriters to make decisions on individual life insurance risks. As your skills grow, you will also participate in more sophisticated services which we provide to our clients including product development, reporting, trainings, audit, etc.
On a daily basis you will be responsible for managing the following:
• Reviewing of customer information (medical, financial, occupational/recreational) and collection of additional information in order to assess potential customers and decide on the risk for a policy.
• Evaluating insurance applications and making decisions in accordance with iptiQ's underwriting standards.
• Data entry of underwriting cases in iptiQ's specialized underwriting systems.
• Support cross-functional collaboration with other iptiQ teams in delivering value to the business.
• Contribute to the continuous development of iptiQ's underwriting related tools.
• Preparation and support for client facing activities.
• Building and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
• Travel to other iptiQ/partner locations from time to time (once travel is safe again) to understand location specific business needs.
