About the team

Our team together with you is responsible for taking care of an in-house built application, which is used for analysis and reserves estimation for Swiss Re. Our main customer is actuarial community within the company.

We are looking for University student in the 4th or 5th grade of your studies in the field of mathematics, information technology or similar who wants to take a meaningful role supporting our team of Business Engineers in Risk Management InfoTech unit.

We are based in Bratislava.


About the role

In your role you will support the actuarial reserving processes in our newly developed cloud based platform. The main tasks will be to provide support to the actuarial community in the use of our application. You will be involved in all steps of the production control which includes:

-Monitoring of data migrations and reconciliations
-Providing ad-hoc analysis (incl. data mining) and user support
-Ensuring accurate reporting and up-to-date documentation
-Communication with international user community
-Capturing further user requirements, their analysis and clarification to implementors

Apart of "Business As Usual" work you will also participate on further improvement of the system, data integration, design and development of new interfaces and functions in close cooperation with Application/Data Engineers. You will have the possibility to develop a wide skillset, both technical and professional as well as learning about crucial Risk Management processes.

About you

You are pro-active person with curious mindset seeking for creative solutions to improve things for us and our business partners. To succeed in this opportunity, you should be results driven, knowing when to seek help. You enjoy interacting with people, listen them carefully and understand their work and related needs:

-you will work with cloud based data platform (Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Server, Azure Synapse) so some basics in SQL/Python or R language would be helpful
-basic experience with PowerBI is beneficial
-you will use also Excel, Word, Powerpoint to help with analysis and documentation
-knowledge of basic accounting principles, insurance/reinsurance/actuarial work is a plus
-you are able to understand problems and work to some degree independently on solutions with focus on detail without losing overall picture
-most importantly you are willing to learn
-you can demonstrate good spoken and written English communication skills
