Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Business Analysis team is an integral part of Global Investment Reporting (GIR), who has ownership of the sub-ledger accounting for Investments, including all valuations and related reporting deliverables. The Business Analysis teams provide development and analysis support for the various workstream projects, which address the accounting and reporting requirements for IFRS 9, US GAAP, Solvency II, Economic Value Management, Local / statutory regulation, Group Finance Data Model, etc.

The role will sit in Bratislava but will closely align with other Business Analysis teams and stakeholders based in USA, Slovakia, India, United Kingdom, and Switzerland,

About the Role

The role will be to respond to development issues arising from the updates being made to the accounting system infrastructure, understanding the underlying issues, raising change requests and resolving them by coordinating with the business users and the development team.

• A strong hands-on knowledge of accounting for Fixed Income Securities, foreign exchange derivatives and other Investment related vehicles.
• A reasonable technical knowledge of IT to the level necessary to facilitate interaction with IT on the specification and development of solutions.
• Hands-on experience of investment banking Finance implementations and be proactive, detailed, and focused.
• Work with external and internal clients to review release issues in various environments – QA, UAT and Production.
• Ability to manage and contribute during all phases of requirement gathering.
• Research, analyze, test and sign-off new financial security products.
• Understand end-to-end process and Initiate improvements in the process by implementing best practices
• Preparation of good quality business requirement and functional specifications documents
• Participation and coordination of projects and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Test software code releases in various environments and reporting on issues.
• Track and report on software defects, enhancement requests, and release statuses.

Personality requirements and skills

• University degree, preferably Accounting, Finance/Banking/Investments
• Good knowledge of financial instruments including complex OTC derivatives and FX products and financial markets
• ~5 years' experience in Business Analysis
• Knowledge of investment banking STP systems such as Aladdin, Hiport, Murex, JIRA and nice to have working experience on SQL
• Familiarity with USGAAP, Solvency II and IFRS9 accounting principles with respect to investment products would be a plus
• System implementation and change testing experience
• High level of interpersonal skills and integrity
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong communication and presentations skills, both verbal and written
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking
• Time management skills and adherence to deadlines
• Works productively in the face of ambiguity or uncertainty, readily adapts to different ways of doing things.
• Ability to work independently.
