About the Role

We are looking for Agile Delivery Manager who is ready to guide teams to use Agile practices and values in delivering technology initiatives that meet customer and commercial needs. The typical manager both coaches' teams to perform all task according to Agile processes (i.e. Scrum, Kanban and SAFE) and drives iterative, continuous delivery.

Responsibilities:
• Champion and drive the adoption of Lean-Agile practices within both delivery teams and leadership
• Servant-Coach cross-functional teams and product owners in turning requirements into working software.
• Drive project team mobilization and establish ways of working in line with Agile delivery best practices.
• Lead traditional project management duties including: scope definition, staffing, communication of status to clients and partners, budget oversight and risk/issue management.
• Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements.
• Author user stories, acceptance criteria and ensure overall backlog health.
• Ensure product quality expectations are defined and known across the team.
• Collaborate with the team in scheduling work, including defect remediation and refactoring, guarding against the accumulation of technical debt.
• Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems collaboratively.
• Contribute to wider Change and Delivery practices, such as Portfolio Management templates, etc.

Personality requirements and skills

Essential Skills:
• Deep experience of using a range of Agile techniques in Large/Mid-sized enterprises to deliver IT change.
• Knowledge of Lean production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience of transitioning a business from Waterfall to Agile delivery.
• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software, such as Visual Basic, Java, SQL, public Cloud, databases etc.
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.

Nice-to-have Skills:
• Insurance or Financial Services experience
• Experience of Lean-Agile transformations within mid-large enterprises

Education/Experience:
• 5+ years experience of Agile delivery in corporate environments
• SAFE and/or ScrumMaster Certification Required
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field.
• MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.
