Job description, responsibilities and duties

As an Audit Associate, you will be assigned to audit activities related to Financial Reporting Risk. You will be constantly getting to know and learning about new areas of Swiss Re, assessing the effectiveness of the relevant processes and controls and coming up with workable solutions to any problems you may identify. You will get the opportunity to work with various stakeholders across Group Internal Audit and the business and be part of strategic initiatives, if you want to.

Your main responsibilities:

Your main activity is to test Financial Reporting Risk controls and support the planning process and coordination for FRR. Additionally, you will help on the administrative side to make the FRR process go as smoothly as possible.

Furthermore, you can participate in GIA's initiatives and projects and audit business and group functions, i.e. evaluating the effectiveness of business processes and internal control systems as well as ensuring compliance with governance and existing business rules and regulations.

By identifying and mitigating current or evolving risks you add value to the company. You will have exposure to multiple stakeholders, senior management in GIA and be part of an agile team conducting audit work. This role is an unique opportunity to deal with themes that have organizational impact at the most senior level of the organization driving the risk culture of Swiss Re. You will also interact with external audit and coordinate GIA's activities with them.

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

Education and experience:

- Work experience in audit, another assurance function or in a professional capacity related to the reinsurance/financial services industry is an advantage
- University degree (preferred)
- CPA, CA, CIA or professional certification (preferred)

Personal skills:

- Critical thinker that sees the "big picture" (e.g. overall themes, trends, goals), generates innovative ideas and solutions to problems and makes recommendations in the face of complexity, conflicting pressures and ambiguous circumstances.
- Good communicator, able to gain and maintain a trusted relationship while delivering difficult messages
- Structured analyst, capable to adopt and use data-driven auditing including data analytics to assess risks, scope audits and test controls
- Team worker, able to listen to others but also influence in order to see the wider picture and achieve a vision
- Fluent in English
