Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are looking for a Underwriter Casualty Fac for European Markets. Your job will entail examining, underwriting and developing facultative business in accordance with defined marketing objectives and profitability targets. You will be communicating with clients, whilst at the same time managing the portfolios or submissions which have been assigned to you.
 
Main tasks:
• Originating, analyzing, pricing and underwriting of facultative risks will fall under your remit, as well deploying capacity appropriately according to risk quality and the Group guidelines.
• You will market and promote Swiss Re vis-à-vis clients and brokers, with the aim of developing personal relationships and will be expected to apply your communication skills and product knowledge.
• You will be a integrated member of the client team. Across different Lines of business and cross functional you will interact with client managers, market underwriters and treaty underwriters to create and leverage the market.
• Sustainably developing the facultative book with core business as well as support on new innovative solutions for our clients.
• Furthermore, you will be required to comply with guidelines such as underwriting and pricing framework and the Code of Conduct.
Your performance will be measured based on bottom line results.

Personality requirements and skills

Professional / educational experience:
• University degree
• 3 to 5 years of experience in (re-) insurance business
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Experienced to work in an international environment
 
Personal skills:
• Outstanding team player who can work independently and takes responsibility for making decisions
• You see yourself as a sales person and dealmaker
• Open-minded, trustworthy, enthusiastic and curious to learn
• Solution and result oriented, ability to deliver, pragmatic
