Job description, responsibilities and duties

As a full-stack developer, you will be part of the application engineering chapter working on several key initiatives, working side-by-side with our business engineers, data engineers and other technology professionals. You will be developing and maintaining web applications which run on browser as well as mobile devices. You will be fully engaged in the architecture & design discussion going cross various technology, namely Java, React, Node.js, Oracle DB, Docker, etc.

In your role you are responsible for:

-Participating in Solution Design & Implementation
-Development of new applications
-Continuous improvement and maintenance of existing applications
-Use of modern UI/UX
-Defining/improving best practices for building, testing and deploying of applications
-Staying on top of emerging trends and help the organization in making informed technology decisions

SRI uses R&D to ensure Swiss Re's capabilities remain cutting edge, maintain underwriting excellence and incubate new business models, product and services. Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

-3+ years of experience with Full-stack Web development, preferably React/Angular, TypeScript, Node, js, JEE/Spring, SQL/Oracle DB, API design & development
-Familiar with developing in public cloud (e.g. Azure, AWS) environments, using native services, e.g. Terraform,
-Experience with Azure DevOps (Repo, Pipleline, CICD), Azure Data Factory
-Experience in Azure Webservice container, Docker
-Experience in relational databases/SQL, PostgreSQL,
-Experience with NoSQL storage & Elastic, PySpark is a plus
-Bachelor or Master degree in a technical field is a plus
-Quick learner and passionate about application development
-Familiar with the agile development approach: Scrum.
-Good communication, and good command of English (knowledge of German is an asset)
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-Enjoy teamwork with the ability to work responsibly, self-reliant and results-oriented
