This superb opportunity offers you the possibility to develop a wide skillset, both technical and professional as well as learning about crucial Risk Management processes at a global corporation that is tackling some of the world's most important challenges. In this role, you will work as part of our Integrated Risk IT team which is maintaining the existing application eco-system, developing new capabilities and adapting our applications to an ever-changing landscape. You will develop into a trusted partner, working directly with our business counterparts on diverse technologies, tools and processes, such as Java, TypeScript, Oracle, MSBI, SQL, Python, Matlab, Palantir, DevOps, agile development, CI/CD etc.
Our team together with you is responsible for the Integrated Risk Analytics and Modeling platform which is a critical system to support sound decision-making for our business functions and management including regulatory reporting.

The role includes (among many others) the following duties:

• Analyze, contribute and drive the development and maintenance of our risk management platform
• You manage end-to-end interface changes to and from the Risk DWH
• Being a key person in demanding projects for Risk Management
• Assess new and innovative technologies and help us implement them to evolve our platform
• Be an ambassador for innovation on topics such as smart-analytics, DevOps and more.
• Respond to, and handle complex issues
• Help to embed our culture of continuous improvement
• Close coordination of tasks with multiple business and development teams in other international locations

About the team

You will be working with an international, dynamic and diverse IT team providing change and new developments for serving Swiss Re's Group Risk & Analytics function. The diverse set of functions and applications, operating in a landscape that never stands still, ensures that no two days are the same and offers opportunities for the keen learner to absorb and get exposed to key processes in Risk. To succeed in this opportunity, you should be results driven, confident meeting (sometimes tight) deadlines and the ability to assume different responsibilities; sometimes an analyst and sometimes a trouble-shooter. You are an upbeat and inventive problem solver, yet know when to seek help. You are a good communicator and fluent in English. You have graduated with a Bachelors or a Master's degree in computer science or equivalent and have a provable background in business analysis. You have a passion to learn about how the business are using our solutions as well as the technical aspects of the solutions themselves. You like to question and challenge the status quo and you are comfortable in an agile and fluid landscape.

Finally, you should possess a range of skills and the commitment to expand them. The most important skills and experience we are looking for include (but are not limited to):

• Ability to describe and document sophisticated system architecture and processes in an easy to understand way
• Act as the glue between business and IT and translate business requirements to developers
• Good knowledge of object-oriented programming
• Basic knowledge of either Java, SQL, Matlab or Python
• Experience with continuous integration/delivery and build automation.
• Relational database experience, Oracle preferred
• Reporting and BI experience (preferably MSBI, Power BI)
• Exposure to DevOps processes and concepts
• Exposure to agile methodologies
• Testing concepts and processes
