About the role

The Department 'Global Centre Operations' of Corporate Real Estate and Services (CRES) is looking for a Service Designer/Design Thinker to complement their team.
Offering and delivering services to our internal customers is the core business of Corporate Real Estate & Services (CRES). CRES is globally responsible for Swiss Re's corporate real estate including the management of efficient/functional office environment and the provision of high quality facility management services to address daily business needs of our clients.

The demand of our customers for innovation, intelligent design and outstanding quality paired with state of the art technology is growing rapidly. We don't just want to keep up with the growing expectations - we want to be a step ahead. In this role you are a crucial driver when crafting and designing our solutions and service delivery approaches to meet our stakeholder's needs and expectations.

The Responsibilities:
Apply creative design thinking strategies and methods to design state of the art solutions, services and target operating models with a strong focus on the customer's needs. In order to achieve this you:
• Evaluate and structure the area of challenge, re-frame and clearly define the problem area, finding the right balance between the high expectations of our customers versus feasibility and the right fit for purpose;
• Create customer insights using appropriate interview techniques and data sources to understand the customer's needs and requirements;
• Apply proven customer experience principles to design feasible, desirable and viable solutions and services to create excellence throughout the entire customer journey;
• Develop and define target operating models (TOMs) in order to structure and standardise our service offerings on a global level and align the customer experience;
• Apply different research techniques to explore new technologies, best practice approaches and industry trends to drive innovation and ideation;
• Lead and facilitate workshops for approved initiatives and provide trainings on design thinking, customer journey mapping, and similar to promote service design methodology;
• Create process documents, manuals, business cases and similar to support initiatives in progress, as well as communication pieces to share success stories.
• Take care of multiple stakeholder views, requiring awareness, respect, and the ability to deal with cultural differences;
• Implement small improvements yourself or support large projects with the implementation of new solutions and services.

About the team

The team Global Centre Operations consists of – in addition to two service designers - diverse professionals who cover themes such as ContactOne (Swiss Re's service delivery platform), Global Building Data & Plan Management, Risk & Governance, Technical On and Offboarding of new employees, Communication and Functional support and many more.

About you

A successful candidate displays:
• Track record in service design in related areas;
• Experience in design thinking, customer journey mapping, design sprints and UX design or similar;
• A strong interest in process design and service definition with a clear focus on the customer's needs;
• Ability to process and structure significant amount of data and carve out relevant data points to be translated into customer insights, specifications and recommendations;
• Ability to deal with significant level of ambiguity where fundamental principles do not clearly apply or interests of conflict;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and clearly at all hierarchical levels;
• Strong facilitator skills to lead workshops and challenging discussions;
• Ability to blend in with existing team and culture and contribute to further develop the team;
• Good understanding of information technology;
• Basic project management and change management skills; in both traditional Waterfall and Scrum methodology
• Very good command of English, at least understanding of German is an asset;
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint and Visio.
• Experience with collaboration tools such as Klaxoon, Mural, Custellence a plus.
